The Packing Pretty Run n Gun is intended to encourage female shooters, who are new or experienced shooters, athletes, and/or enthusiasts to come out and compete. Below are some helpful guidelines for first time competitors:
We expect that all competitors have experience with firearm manipulation, handling and safety. This is not the time or place to learn how to shoot.
Have your weapon sighted-in prior to arrival. There will not be a location to zero your rifle or pistol.
Come with a good attitude, meet some fun people, and enjoy the experience.
You do not have to run the course. The name 'Run' n Gun is somewhat misleading as the majority of competitors jog what they can or walk the course.
Don’t push yourself past your limits. Compete at a level you are comfortable with. No one will judge you for walking or jogging as needed.
Bring water! There will be bottled water available on the course but remember in the higher altitude you need even more water to stay hydrated.
If you fail to complete a stage, no worries! Look at it as identifying where you need improvement and train accordingly. Keep a positive attitude and move to the next stage.
How much ammo do I bring? A good rule of thumb is to carry double or triple the amount of ammo required for the course.
If you have questions, ask.
Don’t be shy!
